CONCERNING THE ARTIST

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Jessica L Therrien was born in Webster, MA in July of 1978.  She has been an Artist since birth having always been attracted to light and color from the first picture taken of her with a flash.  Her mother is a crafter and her father a woodworker and she learned everything from them hanging out from a young age wanting to help out.  She also has an older brother who made her very brave always dragging her around on his adventures and getting into all kinds of fun.  Naturally those foundations carried her through Grade School having been the first young artist to ever get an Award for "Outstanding Achievement in Art" at Webster Middle School, and was asked to pick the recipient for the following year.  She learned everything she needed to know about Art from her Bartlett High School Art teachers, and then went on to study at MassArt to burn herself out learning everything they had to offer on four hours of sleep, which she loved.  She now hangs her canvas up in Lynn, MA where she loves her ocean.

Professionally Jessica is a Film Industry vagabond carnie having worked as an Accounting Clerk, Art Department Coordinator I.A.T.S.E Local 481, Costume Assistant and Stylist, On Set Second Unit Production Assistant where all the action is, Scenic Department bucket washer I.A.T.S.E Local U.S.A 829, and last in alpha order but her most favorite and where her passion lies, as a Visual Effects Assistant on set with VFX Supervisors which she hopes to be someday.

She has talent in so many areas she can't choose one and doesn't want to unless it's in Visual Effects, and specifically a creature creator.  She can't sit still and is only truly happy when making magic happen so she paints as a hobby most consistently to meditate where there is no premeditation, just a blank canvas,  imagination and the head space of color mixing.  She also makes animations, models tiny houses and creatures, does fiber arts, drawings, jokes, gives kind compliments, generally just has a good time learning new things, being silly while singing loudly, drinking coffee and eating chocolate chip cookies.

ABOUT THE PAINTVENTURE COMPANY

Est. in 2008 the name comes from a fusion of the French word for paint "peinture" and the word "adventure", because she loves having, going on, and hearing about adventures.  Her family and friends had been commissioning her for years with "you should do a painting with (whatever) in it!" Also to stay creative when imagination is at a low there are always colorful photos to draw from which she naturally makes the colors more vibrant in the paintings as is her style.

So read the blog already, see what She's working on, and drop a line to say you were here since she loves people and making friends.
